Caressa Janssen is a professionally trained actor and singer.
She played the lead part of Erika alongside an international cast in the by audiences very well received theatre piece Walls and Bridges during a full three-week run at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Ahead of her arrival in Scotland, Caressa had gained extensive experience in both singing and acting on stage as a member of semi-professional musical theatre companies in The Netherlands. She last performed with the MusicalMakers as the lead character Johanna in the musical theatre piece Ketters [Heretics] in 2018. This role included two solo songs as well as a duet. The show was long-listed for Best New Musical, Best Ensemble, and Best Design/Stage Image at the 2018 Dutch Amateur Musical Awards.
Caressa trained as a professional actor at Acting Coach Scotland in Glasgow, where she obtained a Diploma in Acting for Stage & Screen. She also achieved Distinctions in her Grade 4, 5, and 6 London College of Music (LCM) Exams in Music Theatre.
Before her decision to pursue acting and singing as a professional career, Caressa successfully completed a PhD in Educational Science.
